The Dream Fight, is the last fight in the NES titles Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! and Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream. It only contains one fighter; however, the ring in which the Dream Fight takes place is a different color than that the previous circuits, and as such could be regarded as a separate circuit.

Fighters[]

In Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Mike Tyson was the only fighter in the Dream Circuit. In Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream, the player would fight Mr. Dream instead. They both have the same attacks.

Rule Infractions[]

As per the unified rules of boxing established by the Association of Boxing Commissions and Combat Sports:

  • The Dream Circuit uses a 3-round rule. Professional boxing uses a 12 round rule, making this illegal.
  • If a boxer is knocked down three times in a single round of a match in the Dream Circuit, they lose by TKO. The 3-Knockdown does not apply in professional boxing, making this illegal.

The Dream Circuit has 2 infractions.

History[]

In the original version of the NES Punch-Out!!, there was no Dream Fight; the game ended after Super Macho Man was defeated. Mike Tyson was added in the American version in the game after Nintendo of America's then-president Minoru Arakawa saw Tyson in a boxing match, and was so impressed with his skill that he decided to implement the champ into the game. This game was released in Japan, as well. After Nintendo's contract with Mike Tyson had expired, they re-released the game as Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream, and put the fictional character Mr. Dream into the game in Tyson's place, changing Mike Tyson's skin color, and hair, along with a couple of his facial expressions.
