Shigeru Miyamoto (Japanese: 宮本 茂, Hepburn: Miyamoto Shigeru, born November 16, 1952) is a Japanese video game designer, producer and game director at Nintendo. He is best known as the creator of several video game franchise such as Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda or Star Fox. He was involved in the Punch-Out!! series as the designer of the characters in the first arcade game and its direct sequel (though in a less significant way in the latter) and as one of the supervisors for the Wii game.
